What the! I pulled an all-nighter!
Since getting my booth up and running, life has continued on as hectic as ever. That's the thing about having a full time job, there's only so many hours in the day where I can do voice overs. Last Monday night, I arrived home from work and had voice overs that were approaching deadlines so I had to get them done. I worked on them from about 5.30pm through until about 7 when dinner was served (thank you Ath).
After dinner, I went back to editing the voice overs and before I knew it, it was 2.30am! I had to get up at 4am for my volunteer work which I do each Tuesday morning so I asked myself "is it worth just staying up now or should I lie down on the bed and see if I can at least have a rest for an hour or so". I decided to lie down and at least give my eyes a rest from the computer. (I wasn't quite finished the voices but I was almost done.) So, I lay there, trying to get my mind to rest and I must have dozed off because I heard my alarm going off. I leapt out of bed and felt a bit like a zombie, walking around in circles, not really knowing what I was doing!
I got ready and decided to take my laptop with me. Thankfully, my volunteer work isn't full on if the weather's not great so I knew I'd be able to do more editing while I was there. I managed to finish the editing and get the jobs uploaded for the clients. Phew!
I tell you what though, pulling an all-nighter isn't my cup of tea anymore. It's funny how, when I was younger, it was a very cool thing to do ... now, it's definitely not. I don't think I'll be doing that again anytime soon. :-)
